Bluebik Group Public Company Limited (BBIK), a leading consultancy on digital transformation and AI-led enterprise digital transformation, under the guidance of Chief Experience Officer Soranun Choochut sees the importance of developing young people to be future leaders with great potential and ability to identify and analyze social problems and offer practical solutions – crucial qualifications to drive national development. Therefore, Bluebik has launched the ‘Boost: The Transformation Program’ to offer leadership training to interns with high potential. This underlines Bluebik’s image of being a learning organization that always applies new knowledge and technology for greater competitiveness and truly values sustainability in all dimensions including especially the development of human resources of the nation.

Boost: The Transformation Program’ has a well-designed process to identify young and capable people according to Boost + criteria which consists of:

▪️ Breakthrough Thinking – the leaders who have deep thinking, not superficial one

▪️ Ownership in Action – the leaders who are ready to be in the field and highly capable of solving immediate problems

▪️ Orbiting Empathy – the leaders who fully intend to overcome problems with the best solutions

▪️ Storytelling that Moves – the leaders who master storytelling and raise the issues which interest society and build its awareness

▪️ Transformative Execution – the leaders who have the practical initiatives that can be applied and create social impacts despite time constraint for implementation

▪️ + Belonging & Team Energy – the leaders who can manage teams toward mutual success

The company recruited participants by selecting 15 out of 200 university students in Thailand and other countries who are interested and excel in business and technology. The two-month-long training program receives support from partners in the government sector and the social sector namely the Traffic and Transportation Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Sathon District Office, the Phra Nakhon District Office, the United Nations Development Programme and MMU Company Limited which specializes in designing activities for the benefits of the environment and society. The partners support the student participants in developing their work skills as they have firsthand experience in real-life problems, talk with groups of stakeholders and apply knowledge about business and technology to solve problems. Participants have come up with solutions to two problems as follows.

1) Traffic problems – Knowledge about the design and development of infrastructures for advanced technology (Digital Excellence & Delivery) as well as big data management and data analysis with artificial intelligence (Big Data & Artificial Intelligence) are integrated into the development of the “Traffix” system. Traffix is an AI tool which monitors traffic lights and displays real-time outputs through dashboards. Thus, it increases traffic police’s efficiency in traffic light control. The integrated system has been tested in Sathon district and proved to raise the vehicle-handling capacities of local roads by as much as 90% and reduce the length of traffic congestion at each intersection by 18 meters on average.

2) Waste management – Knowledge from management consulting is applied to design the “Roadken Connect” model which monitors street vendors’ contributions to the sustainability of social and environmental development (Sustainable Transformation Model). Street vendors are, for example, required to properly sort rubbish and less use non-degradable packages. The initiative has initially been implemented on Khao San Road in Phra Nakhon district of Bangkok.

Both innovative solutions will be further developed and applied by relevant organizations to solve traffic problems and manage waste in Bangkok in well organized and sustainable manners.

In addition, Bluebik proceeds with its ‘Big: Bluebik Internship for Growth’ project in which it chose from 1,500 applicants 44 interns who have potential and are willing to learn from real-life work environments. The selected students took internships in the fields of Digital Excellence & Delivery, Management Consulting, Strategic PMO, Big Data & Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Human Resources and PR & Marketing. In implementing this training project, Bluebik, as a consultancy, intends to share its business and technology expertise with the young people so that they will be ready to enter the labor market that will be driven mainly by digital technology and artificial intelligence.

“Bluebik sees the importance of growing business with sustainability based on social responsibility. This is corporate social responsibility. So, we are seriously developing the potential of young people through the two internship projects that are being implemented on a yearly basis. We emphasize this because we strongly believe that people are at the heart of national development and business growth,” Mr. Soranun concluded.
