What happens when a developer decides to step beyond the code and take on something completely new?

For Bom Nutchapon Hanouypornlert, that question sparked a bold career move — from Developer to Senior System Analyst at Bluebik.

Post EN From Code to Consult

In an era where technology and business are more connected than ever, Bom embraced the challenge of bridging both worlds. His story shows how Bluebik empowers experienced tech professionals to move into consulting roles, expand their skills, and grow through real-world impact. It proves that the most rewarding paths often begin just outside your comfort zone.

From a Senior Full Stack Developer with hands-on experience in both frontend and backend, Bom has now stepped into the role of Senior System Analyst, a position that demands not only technical knowledge but also soft skills such as communication and management. This career shift has brought him tremendous growth through intense challenges, and he firmly believes every step has been worth it.

During his first seven months as a Senior System Analyst, Bom feels he is in the right place at the right time. He is devoting his energy to mastering new skills and building new perspectives. What he seeks is something no classroom can teach, lessons that come only through real, hands-on experience.

When he searched for a place to grow in this new direction, the answer was clear: Bluebik. The company has long been known among tech professionals and is filled with people ready to support one another’s growth. For Bom, it is more than just a workplace; it is a learning ground where both seniors and juniors listen, share, and tackle challenges together.

From a developer who once spent most of his time behind a computer screen to a System Analyst (SA) who now works directly with clients, Bom is proving that changing careers does not mean starting from zero. It is about building an existing experience to see things from a broader, more strategic perspective. And without question, Bluebik has become the stage that allows him to grow to his full potential.

Switching Lanes at 30: When Tech Experience Becomes Your Edge

“Before joining Bluebik, I was a Senior Full Stack Developer at a software house,” Bom recalls.

“Now I’m a Senior System Analyst at Bluebik. My main responsibilities as an SA involve gathering requirements from clients, creating API specifications, and passing them on to our developer team for implementation and delivery based on the agreed criteria. Simply put, I serve as the bridge between clients and our team.”

Having experience in both frontend and backend gives him a clear advantage.
“The SA role at Bluebik requires us to act as consultants for clients. When consulting, clients expect us to have solid technical knowledge and to be reliable. The solutions we propose must make sense and truly work. So, for someone who has worked in frontend or backend before, it’s easier to understand whether what the client wants is feasible, how much time it will take, and which solution is the most suitable to recommend.”

When asked what motivated the switch, Bom smiles.
“Honestly, curiosity,” he says. “I wanted to move beyond pure coding to understand more about the business side, connect with more people, and take on work that feels different from my old routine.”

He also believes age should never be a limitation.

“These days, I don’t think age defines anyone’s ability to change jobs. As long as you know you can do the work, most companies are open-minded about it. Bluebik is a clear example.”

“In your early 30s, you still have the energy and time to give your best,” he continues. “I believe that when you put your full effort into what you do, the rewards will come later — whether in income, job stability, or knowledge gained. That’s why I’m giving my all during this period of my life.”

Why Bluebik?

“The first reason is Bluebik’s reputation and credibility,” Bom says.

“It’s one of the top destinations for tech professionals. The people here are talented, supportive, and the company gives everyone the space to show their full potential.”

He adds, “Another aspect that attracted me is the company’s vision. I’ve seen that Bluebik is constantly developing. In the tech world, there’s always new knowledge and emerging trends, and Bluebik consistently keeps up and applies those innovations in practical ways. It’s an organization that’s always evolving.”

Coming from a tech background, Bom expected that working at Bluebik would help him become a better System Analyst — someone capable of designing better systems and delivering higher-quality work to clients. But what excites him most is the potential for long-term growth.

“Beyond the SA role, there are many paths you can take here. Some people eventually discover they want to move into different roles, and that’s possible. For those who want to continue on the technical track, there are positions like Software Architect or Solution Architect waiting ahead. And if you want to grow into management, that’s also an option. The path forward really depends on what you want. Here, the directors never close any doors.”

What Happens When You Switch Careers!

“As an SA, technical skills still matter, especially backend knowledge,” Bom explains.

“Then comes frontend and UX/UI understanding. Everyone also has their own area of focus. For me, it’s software design, cloud, and AI. When you transition into the SA role, you might not be implementing piece by piece anymore, but you get to work on the overall system design. So, things like cloud architecture are something you can’t overlook.”

Beyond technical expertise, Bom emphasizes the importance of soft skills.

“Communication, persuasion, and negotiation are all crucial. My first seven months were incredibly challenging. Coming from a developer background, I had to learn how to talk to people, lead discussions, and manage both teammates and clients.”

Working in an Agile environment has also shaped his growth.

“In Agile, everything revolves around communication — fast to know, fast to fix. When users test and request changes, you have to respond quickly, understand their reasoning, and find common ground. It’s not always easy. Sometimes clients want something that doesn’t fit the best solution, and you need to guide the conversation carefully. That takes practice.”

He smiles. “These seven months have helped me grow tremendously. I can see the difference in how I communicate, how I carry myself, and how I manage people in different situations. It’s been tough, but absolutely worth it. One of the biggest skills I’ve gained as an SA is improving my soft skills, and I believe that’s an investment that always pays off.”

A Team That Pushes You Forward and Catches You When You Fall

“I can confidently say that Bluebik’s SA team is highly trusted. We’re the people who need to speak the language of clients one day and the language of developers the next, and I think we do that quite well. From what I’ve seen, both internal and external teams have a lot of trust in us.”

He continues, “We’re lucky to have SAs with the same fighting spirit and a strong sense of understanding. Here, we cheer each other on, set goals together, and align our passion toward a shared vision. It gives everyone motivation because we know what we’re working toward.”

Bom believes that going through difficult projects together naturally strengthens relationships.
“When you go through tough times as a team, you become closer. I often hang out with my teammates outside of work because it’s the easiest way to build relationships. Over time, coming to work feels like meeting friends.”

That closeness makes a real difference. “The closer we are, the better the collaboration. When someone has something, they might normally hesitate to say, they feel comfortable coming directly to us. That level of openness helps reduce problems in the team significantly.”

When asked what kind of senior he is, Bom laughs. “If I compare it to the military, I’d hand my juniors a weapon and let them go into the field themselves. My job is to stand behind them, ready to patch them up if they get hurt. For me, it’s important that they face challenges on their own while knowing there’s someone behind them ready to catch them if they fall.

“When I assign work, I also take responsibility for it. If something goes wrong, I’m the first person to be accountable, not my juniors.”

He pauses for a moment before adding, “Having seniors who support you from behind gives you peace of mind. When you know it’s okay to fail as long as you give your best, you become more confident to try new things. I actually learned this mindset from my boss, who manages me in the same way. And I’ve found that it really works. Everything should start with people. When you have a good team and good people, everything else will follow.”

Beyond Standards: Success Isn’t 100 — It’s 110

“For me, success means going beyond expectations,” Bom says. “If we set the goal at 100 and achieve 110, that’s what I call success.”

His mindset aligns perfectly with Bluebik’s DNA — always going beyond standards.

From our conversation about Bom’s new role and career transition, one thing stands out: his commitment to working “beyond standards.” It’s a value that Ping-Siphong Tanavongchinda, Director of Digital Excellence and Delivery (DX), sees clearly in him.

“I once told Bom that with the evolution of AI coding, if we can create a really good spec, it should soon be possible to convert it directly into code. I mentioned that next year we should make our SA specs smoother and ready to become code right away,” Ping recalls.

“What impressed me about Bom was that he didn’t wait for next year. He went back, researched how it could be done, took extra courses, and came back with a prototype. He told me he did it outside of working hours, and when I reviewed it, it actually worked. I appreciated how he went out of his way to learn something that supports where we’re heading as a company.”

Ping continues, “He even said, ‘Then we don’t have to wait until next year. Can we start now?’ So, I gave him a project to try. Over the past two months, two specs came out from the SA team that barely needed any code revisions after review. What used to take four or five days now takes two. That means we cut development time in half and gained more time to improve our processes. His initiative really impressed us.”

This perspective from a director who works directly with Bom shows that both of them share the same belief — that working beyond standards is what drives both the company and its people forward. At Bluebik, this mindset not only strengthens the organization but also helps individuals grow with confidence and purpose.
